Species Overview:
This striking hybrid blends two impressive Bornean species: Nepenthes glandulifera, known for its dark coloration and unique nectar glands, and N. boschiana, famous for its tall, flared pitchers and dramatic peristomes. The resulting hybrid often showcases elongated, robust pitchers with deep color tones, glandular details, and fluted peristomes—perfect for collectors looking for both flair and vigor.
General Care:
-
Light: Bright, filtered light is best—morning sun with afternoon shade or bright dappled light throughout the day. Strong light encourages bold coloration.
-
Water: Keep the growing medium evenly moist but not waterlogged. Use only rainwater, distilled, or RO water. Good drainage is essential.
-
Humidity: High humidity (60–80%) is ideal, especially to encourage large, well-formed pitchers.
-
Temperature: Prefers intermediate to warm-intermediate conditions (day: 22–30°C, night: 15–20°C).
-
Fertilizer: Feed monthly with diluted orchid or carnivorous plant fertilizer (¼ strength), either as a foliar spray or a few drops into active pitchers.
-
Pest Control: Check periodically for mealybugs, scale, or fungus gnats. Use gentle treatments like neem oil or insecticidal soap—always test first.
