Give the gift of creativity with a voucher for our 4-Week Pottery Foundations Course. Guided by expert ceramicists with over a decade of experience, this hands-on journey is perfect for beginners looking to master the fundamentals of hand-building and develop a strong foundation in clay craft.

Course Syllabus

• Week 1: Pinching – Shape organic, one-of-a-kind bowls and vessels intuitively by hand.

• Week 2: Slab Building – Design structured pieces like plates, trays, and boxes using rolled-out clay.

• Week 3: Coiling – Build taller, sculptural forms using layered clay coils.

• Week 4: Surface Decoration – Add color and character through slip decoration, sgraffito, carving, and glazing.(Note: This course focuses strictly on hand-building techniques; no wheel work is included.)

What’s Included

• All materials and tool usage (clay, glazes, and slips).

• Full kiln firing services, with finished pieces ready for collection 2-3 weeks after the final class.

• Students take home every piece they create.

• Complimentary tea, coffee, and biscuits.

January 2027 Schedule The 4-week course begins on Thursday, January 14th. Gift voucher recipients can choose between two time slots:

• Thursday Mornings: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

• Thursday Evenings: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Firing of works takes place every 2–3 weeks. No under 12’s.
