Creative Pottery Classes to get your hands into the world of clay!
What to expect from our pottery classes
-
A slow, relaxed pace of learning
These are ongoing classes, not once-off workshops. The focus is on building skills, confidence, and enjoyment over time. -
Clear focus each session
Every class is either a building session (handbuilding using pinch, coil, and slab techniques — no wheel work) or a glazing session. We don’t build and glaze in the same class. -
Creative freedom
You’re welcome to make anything you like. There will also be examples and inspiration in the studio to help spark ideas or guide your project. -
The firing process
New pieces are dried and then fired for the first time (called a bisque firing). After this, they are glazed and fired again in a glaze firing.
The time between firings is usually around 2–3 weeks, depending on how much work needs to go through the kiln and when there’s enough to fire it efficiently.
Whats included in each class?
-
±2 Hours of guided hand-building, coil, and sculpture techniques.
-
Clay, firing, and fair use of glazes (extras charged separately)
-
Relaxed, creative setting suitable for a variety of skill levels (note: no wheel work offered)
-
Guidance from highly experienced instructors.
To Note
Firing of works takes place every 2–3 weeks. No under 12’s.
